The best time of year is back — summer nights at Cardines Field return Friday, June 5th for the Newport Gulls Home Opener! As the Gulls celebrate their 25th season in 2026, the squad is loaded and ready to chase the ninth championship in franchise history.

Opening Night against the Upper Valley Nighthawks is sponsored by University Orthopedics, and the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a FREE Magnet Schedule courtesy of Aquidneck Pizza. Expect great baseball, ballpark favorites, family fun, and the electric atmosphere that makes Newport summers special.

Gulls fans — pack the house, wear your blue and orange, and help kick off a season you won't want to miss! First pitch is set for 6:35 PM at Cardines Field. See you at the ballpark!

The Newport Gulls, members of the 13-team New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded as the Rhode Island Gulls in 1998 in Cranston, R.I., before moving to Newport in 2001. In addition to recruiting, fielding, and developing a team of the nation's top collegiate baseball athletes and attracting 50,000 fans annually to Cardines Field, the predominantly volunteer organization strives to benefit the community via summer camps, reading programs, fundraisers, scholarships, and charitable donations – totaling over $1 million since 2001.
